Mark has been a practicing artist for over 30 years. He has exhibited both regionally and nationally, winning numerous awards for his work. His body of work has evolved over the years from industrial subjects, musical instruments, landscapes, and most recently the figure. His work has been influenced by many areas of Art History, especially the works of the Cubists, early Modernist painting, and 17th century Baroque painting. Along with maintaining his studio practice, Mark has been the Art Coordinator and Art Instructor at Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton, NC since 2002. He holds a BFA in Painting from East Carolina University and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from East Tennessee State University.
